Event History

United Styles, Shadow Styles & Endless Summer Jam

For more than two decades, I have helped build events around breaking, music and community. United Styles, Shadow Styles and Endless Summer Jam are different chapters of the same idea: create a real place for the culture to connect.

Event production taught me early that a strong night is never just a flyer and a DJ. It is venue, timing, judges, hosts, dancers, sponsors, staff, sound, audience flow and a hundred small decisions people never see.

United Styles

United Styles grew from the breaking community and became part of a larger network of battles and gatherings that brought dancers together across cities and generations.

Shadow Styles

Shadow Styles became part of the Hawaii chapter of that work. The goal was not to copy what was happening somewhere else. It was to build something that made sense for the local community while staying connected to the larger culture.

Endless Summer Jam

Endless Summer Jam carried that work forward with a broader festival feel: dance, music, battles, workshops and community in one place.

What event production taught me

It taught me to think beyond my own role. Whether I am producing the whole event or DJing one part of it, I understand what the organizer is carrying and how important it is for every piece to do its job.

That is one of the reasons my DJ work and event work connect so naturally. I know what it feels like on both sides of the booth.
